The SSP is a ground penetrating radar that was developed with this goal in mind while recognizing the harsh underground mining environment and the challenges faced there-in.
Simplicity meets efficiency
The SSP solution allows for the data to be viewed and analyzed while underground. This provides the user with the opportunity to make valuable decisions in a small window of time that can affect the safety and productivity of the mine and the miners.
The versatility of the SSP allows for it to be used in confined spaces as well as in larger tunnels. The sensor simulates a paint roller motion when used and has independent suspension that grants the user maximum contact with the surface.
The user is able to identify structures quickly and accurately within the rock mass. The system sweeps over a bandwidth of 300 MHz to 1GHz, providing the penetration depth as well as a high resolution.
Data is transferred in real time from the radar sensor to the tablet and can be analyzed directly after a scan has been completed. The Radar Sensor communicates via Wi-Fi to the tablet underground, eliminating the tripping hazard that cables create. Users are able to make immediate decisions to optimize support and safety.
The Sub Surface Profiler software runs as a stand-alone application. It provides an uncomplicated interface where the data is displayed in 2D and provides the necessary filters for the user to identify and amplify the features.
